Welcome Back! I hope everyone enjoyed a great Thanksgiving and a restful break!

We are changing a few things about homework:

Rohla's Math Class:

  • We are starting to learn about measurement. Talk to you kiddos about any measurement you may use in your daily life.
  • Page 113 Homework an Remembering Book
  • Accelerated Math inputted by Friday. Kids will still be coming home with Accelerated Math. Help them budget their week so they can be done by Friday. Maybe 5 problems a day or a page a day. If you have 3 or more pages they may want two weeks to finish their packet. I am fine with that they just need to show me on Friday they have a plan for when their packet will be done. I am trying to work with them on budgeting their time.

Nightly Homework for Rohla's Home Room Class

  • Reading 30 minutes
  • 2 Reading Log Response (NEW) due Friday
    • Students are coming home with a page of over 50 questions they have to choose one questions two nights a week and respond to their reading. They can do so in Google Classroom or in a notebook. I will be looking at these on Friday. Please have students proof read their work as we are really working on writing and becoming better writers.

Week of December 9th - 13th

This week: Students need to read 5 minutes out loud to practice fluency and voice . Then finish the rest of the 25 minutes silently reading.  We are working on area and perimeter. They selected on whether they will be designing a Playground, Kitchen, Classroom, or Bedroom . S tudents will be presenting on Friday as well as learning Google Sheets to make it digital.  1.) They need to find the factors of the area 2.) Eliminate factors that do not work for the perimeter to narrow in and find the length and width. 3.) Then place their square/rectangle on graph paper to design. Students turned in their holiday tradition topic. We will be starting designing slides and researching the origin of the tradition Tuesday and Wednesday. If you have pictures you are welcome to share them with me so I can share them with students to their school accounts. We will write speeches Thursday and Friday so they can practice over the weekend and try and memorize it before our holiday festival...
